HD Flat Panel Television…

Question by NYC Finance: What size flat-panel LCD HDTV should I buy?
Black Friday is coming up and it’s time to upgrade from my current 20″ CRT :) My seating is at least 90″ (7.5 feet) from the TV stand. I’m deciding from somewhere between 32″ and 42″, but still not sure.

It’s all personal preference, but I’m about 10 ft. from my 46 inch LCD and it’s about right. For your distance, I’d want a 40 or 42.

But you should check ‘em out in a store, Pace off the footage from operating sets and see what you think.

  • Question by Mi Muñeca: Hi should I exchange my current HDTV to a new Samsung 3D-HDTV?
Hi I bought a 52″ Sony Bravia HDTV LCD 1080P 120Hz in 6 months ago & I’m still making down payment of $ 162.80 monthly & my currently balance is $ 1905.80. I love technology & hated when something new comes out in stores because technology do change. I do plan buying a used car soon & I just got a higher raised. I really do want the new 55″Samsung HDTV 3D/LED 1080P 240Hz that cost $ 2969.99 or more. Should I make a exchange or should I look away & focus on the car? Lol thanks!

    Answer by kg7or
Look at it this way. If you buy the car, it will always do exactly what you intended for it to do when you invested your money in it. Every time.

If you buy the 3D TV, it will produce 3D programming only during those rare times when one of the few channels offering 3D is actually transmitting 3D. That will change over time, but if you’re interested in the best investment now, a 3D TV is a big expense for minimal 3D programming. I’d wait for the prices to come down and the 3D offerings to dramatically increase.

Insignia is specifically a Best Buy name. Insiginia stuff is generally much cheaper than the name brands but not as good.

Question by godson408: Which one should i go with Vizio 32’’ VOJ320 1080p LCD HDTV or Samsung 32″ LN32A300 LCD HDTV ?
I’m trying to skip the black Friday chaos? These are the two in my budget.

I was looking at the exact two TV’s but decided to go for the 37LG30 (LG) instead. It’s only $ 100 bucks more from Best Buy. But if i had to choose from both of those, I would go with the Samsung. It’s a better brand in general.

  • Question by Sticky: Should I buy a Panasonic Viera Plasma HDTV?
I hear Panasonic’s the best when it comes to Plasma. Is the Viera line the most recent? Is it the best in picture quality right now?

    Best answer:

    Answer by ZshadeZ
Panasonic calls EVERY flat panel a Viera the same way Sony calls every flat panel a Bravia. I know it makes no sense, it’s kind of like Ford calling every vehicle it makes an F10.

Current Panasonic models numbers run like: TCP50X1, TCP50S1, TCP50G1… in this case the *lower* letter at the end being the higher model.

As in…X1 is not as good as S1, S1 is not as good as G1, etc.

As far as brand goes I would HIGHLY reccomend Panasonic, as they have the lowest repair rate in the industry at the moment and make DAMNED good televisions (for movies, TV, gaming, PC monitor, whatever).

  • Question by Jason A: Should I get a Samsung LED OR LCD, when the LED has a worse response time?
LED is the better technology so I want the LED, but the LCD has a better response time – what is more important?

I can get a 32 inch Samsung LED for $ 600 OR a 32 inch Samsung LCD for $ 500 (Canadian dollars which is similar to US).

The specs are similar except the LED has an 8ms response time while the LCD has a 6ms response time.

The contrast ratios are also different, 2,000,000 : 1 for the LED and 40,000 : 1 for the LCD (this seems like a huge difference – I don’t understand this).

The TV is for my PS3 and 360.

    Thanks for any advice.

Here are the details if you need to see them:
