Once you receive the Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR4 1080p LCD HDTV, you should turn off the “vivid” setting and switch to something more comfortable to the eyes especially if you’re watching in standard definition. SD quality video will look bad if you don’t. You should also change the screen from “full” to “wide full” when watching SD to give SD content the best display possible. This will fill up the screen instead of having some blank areas on the left and right of the TV.

DVD’s also look good and sometimes even blu-ray-ish. That’s how good this TV is. The best way to watch movies of course is with a Blu-Ray movie. You can’t buy an HDTV like this and not get a Blu-Ray player or a Playstation 3 (comes with Blu-Ray). Question by bruce: what is the cheapest way to fix a 52 inch sony bravia: lcd flat panel hdtv. It was dropped on it’s corner?
there is a huge web on the screen, from when it was dropped. Is it even worth it to have it fixed??

In general, it will cost between 70 – 120% of the price that you had paid for your Bravia HDTV to replace the screen. It can be done, but seldom is it financially viable. It is usually better to just replace the TV, especially with the rate at which new HDTV prices have been falling.
