I just bought a LG 22″ 1080p LCD HDTV from Circuit City.com and an HDMI cable from Amazon.com, both of which I am going to be using SOLELY for playing games on my Playstation 3. My question was: Do HDMI cables give better picture and sound on a 22″ LCD TV than Component cables do? Secondly, If I choose to use the HDMI cable, should I have the resolution set to 720p or 1080p? I ask that second question because I’m not sure how good 1080p looks on a 22″ TV. Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.

Yes, HDMI cables do give better sound & picture quality. Also, you should set it for 1080p.

The LG, cause sony has not made a plasma in 3 years. So that Sony might be old. And if it is a newer LG it has the the rite hook ups on the back of the tv to get that hd picture.

I am trying to buy an HDTV mainly just for games on my 360. those are my two choices.. i just dont know if the hertz or the resolution would be more important. i was told that the plasma’s refresh rate would be beneficial for gaming but i would really just like to be sure. Will it make that much of a difference on the resolution if the 42″ has 720p compared to the 32″ 1080p? if anyone could help me out, that would be greatly appreciated.. thanks!! here’s links to the two TV’s

IMHO the smaller sized 1080p its the best and most crisp looking hi definition, but if its size your seeking no pun intended then the other one!
