Question by nick: Gaming HDTV help! 42″ 720p Plasma (600hz) or 32″ 1080p LCD (120hz)?
I am trying to buy an HDTV mainly just for games on my 360. those are my two choices.. i just dont know if the hertz or the resolution would be more important. i was told that the plasma’s refresh rate would be beneficial for gaming but i would really just like to be sure. Will it make that much of a difference on the resolution if the 42″ has 720p compared to the 32″ 1080p? if anyone could help me out, that would be greatly appreciated.. thanks!! here’s links to the two TV’s

IMHO the smaller sized 1080p its the best and most crisp looking hi definition, but if its size your seeking no pun intended then the other one!

Question by Scuba Judy: Anybody know anything about the Vizio LCD 1080p HDTV w/ 120Hz XVT?
We are interested in purchasing a 40-42″ LCD 1080p HDTV w/120Hz. The Vizio has been the cheapest we’ve seen. Is it cheap because it’s junky? We are also considering Samsung and Sony Bravia. Any input on any of these brands would be appreciated.

The 120 Hz XVT HDTV from Vizio does have a very sharp picture quality. Vizio has also vastly improved their black level reproduction with these new generation TVs. You will find that this TV does not have the overall contrast of the equivalent Sony or Samsung models which negatively affects the over brightness of its picture quality. Also, the 120 Hz implementation is very crude! This TV produces more halo artifacts with motion than any TV I have even seen, including the 2007 and 2008 products. As much as I like the picture improvements with this TV from Vizio, I can NOT recommend this TV if you are buying it for its 120 Hz operation. Instead, you will find the 120 Hz implementations of the Samsung LN-40A630 or LN-40A650 and the Sony KDL-40W4100 or KDL-40Z4100 are vastly superior.
